Report on Veterans: Inside – Out Healing Day.

On May 2, 2011 international teacher Richard Moss MD donated a day of training to USA veterans at LSF.

Charlson Meadows expresses gratitude to Richard Moss, six volunteers, and 15 veterans who together launched the first veterans program held Saturday, May 2, 2011.

Richard MossRichard Moss shared the healing mandala found in his book, Inside-Out Healing. Using the mandala helps people stay fully alive in the present rather than being reactive consciously or unconsciously to past experiences. Subsequently, people's ability to enjoy life, heal emotional wounds, experience more intimacy, and move toward growth is greatly enhanced.

Veterans appreciated that Dr. Moss donated his time in recognition of what they had done for our country. At the end of the day, they anonymously answered the question, "What did you learn that you would like to carry back into your daily life?"

Their responses included comments such as:

  • Identifying thoughts and feelings for what they really are, and putting them in the proper perspective in my daily life.
  • The challenge of living/staying in the present time rather than telling myself false stories of the past or future.
  • Way more than I can say. Fearlessness, integrity, a way of being present to self and others.

Life Science Foundation is honored to provide opportunities to veterans such as this. In addition to Richard Moss and the veterans, the Foundation recognizes the role the veterans' volunteer planning committee played in making the day possible. Members are Sherry Machen, Barbara Elsbeth, Cheryl Fields, and Chante Wolf. Supporters and helpers: Bob Ostergaard, Ralph Pamperin, and Larry Long.
